Edgar Stewart, 71, of 509 W. North St., died Friday morning at Culver Hospital. He was an employe of the Schloot Furniture Co. since 1947, serving as manager of the Budget Store. Survivors include a son of the Vincennes area, a daughter residing in Ohio and a sister, Mrs. O. C. Edwards of Mace. Funeral arrangements are pending at Hunt and Son Funeral Home.

Funeral services for Edgar W. Stewart, 509 W. North St., a 24-year employe of the Schloot Furniture firm who died Friday morning, will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday at Hunt & Son Funeral Home. Rev. Howard Miller will officiate. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 1 p.m. Sunday. A native of near Darlington, Mr. Stewart was born July 5, 1901 to James H. and Sarah Elliott Stewart. He was married to Dorothy Williams in 1923. Mr. Stewart was a member of the First Christian Church, Lodge 74 of F&AM of Martinsville, of which he was past master, and the York Rite of Crawfordsville. He was a member and on the board of directors of the Kiwanis Club here, served as organist for the Kiwanian travelogues and top salesman for the Kiwanis Pancake Day. He was named outstanding Kiwanian of the year in 1970. Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Barbara Newhill of Willard, Ohio; a son, Eddie of Vincennes, a brother, James of Ladoga, and a sister, Mrs. O. C. Edwards of Mace.
